Alfriston Camping Park was nominated to the Campr 100 because “the scenery was absolutely beautiful, the village nearby was lovely and it is really close to a gorgeous walking and cycling route”.
Just 4 minutes walk from the historic Alfriston village, the site is ideally located for Beachy Head, Birling Gap and the Sussex Downs.
Like the facilities (a 5 minute walk away) the site is pleasingly low-fi (it doesn’t even have a website!) but with the personal touch from the site owner Roy Savage you’ll have a perfect back to basics trip.

Stayed here July 2010 for six days. Great site. Large farmers field, limited number of pitches so need to book or arrive early at weekends in summer. weekdays no problem. Problem is one can only book per email.
Exposed position depending on direction of wind but shelter under trees on one side of field. Facilities basic but good showers, very hot water (the owner could and should reduce the heat, can be dangerous for small children), clean and hygienic. Interesting, relaxed and extremely helpful owner. Seems genuinely interested in meeting people.
Beautiful spot from which to explore the South Downs, Beachy Head, Seven Sisters, nearby village of Alfriston etc.
Extremely good value for money. Definitely come again.
