    Great Langdale was nominated for it’s “stunning surroundings, great facilities and staggering distance from three good pubs”. Based at the head of the Great Langdale Valley and surrounded by the Langdale Pikes, Great Langdale Campsite is the perfect spot for walkers and climbers.

    Nearby walking routes include England’s highest mountain, Scafell Pike and for the less adventurous the valley of Elterwater offers an easier stroll.

    If you would like to sample the scenery in a little more luxury, Great Langdale offers the opportunity for a glamping experience with two fully equipped yurts from Long Vallery Yurts.

    Situated near Buttermere village in the Lake District, Syke Farm is surrounded by scerenic mountains and a lake. The campsite attracts many walking enthusiasts looking to spend the day on the walks of Red Pike, Grasmoor, Robinson and Haystacks.

    Although the location looks remote the site is only a short distance from the Bridge Inn and Fish Hotel, accommodating a tea shop for winter scones in the local village.

    Be warned! No advanced bookings.
