Caerfai Farm is one of Wales’ great campsites. Located a 5 minute walk out of St Davids, Britain’s smallest city, Caerfai Farm is based on a very well maintained organic farm south-east of town, with its own farm shop stocking the incredible Caerfai Caerphilly cheese.

The farm is also powered by renewable energy sources using solar, geothermal, wind and biomass to keep that cheese coming.

Shell Island

Based in North Wales, Shell Island is billed as the biggest campsite in the Europe. Located in the sand dunes of Cardigan Bay, just north of Barmouth, it plays host to amazing views of Snowdonia and Cardigan Bay. A true community resort, there are bars, restaurant and a shop to cater to all your family’s needs.

The site does not take bookings but with all that space, securing a pitch should be straight forward. Take note that this site is not open during winter.

Gwern Gôf Isaf Farm

A farm based site, Gwern Gôf Isaf Farm nestles between Capel Curig and Llyn Ogwen, close to the base of Tryfan. Listed as one of the ’50 Best Campsites in the World’ by The Independant, Gwern Gôf Isaf Campsite is ideal if your planning to go walking or climbing on the mountain’s peaks.

The site is popualr with groups, families and individuals and has hot showers to refresh yourself afer a day’s activities. However, if the location appeals but you fancy a night indoors there are two bunk houses sleeping six or sixteen people.
