As the summer months (allegedly) draw closer, it’ll soon be time to ditch our winter-weight jackets for something lighter, and a soft shell jacket by Result could be just the thing.

Materials

It’s made from a stretchy two-layer bonded fabric, and as well as being breathable, windproof and showerproof, it’s also lightweight, comfortable and looks good.

The sleeves have Velcro cuffs and although they are a little longer than I need it just meant I could tuck my hands inside them on the day I forgot my gloves.

There are two zipped pockets lined with a fleece fabric to keep your hands warm too and a large inner pocket. It also has an outer pocket on the chest, which is fine as long as you’re shaped like Keira Knightly but not much use if you’re more Dolly Parton!

The drawcord waist, and full zip with storm flap and stand-up collar ensure you’re cosy against the elements, and at around £32 this is a great entry-level soft shell.
