The Skandika Tipii / Teepee 300 is perfect for festivals when you want to be seen and share with a fair few friends.
The word on the fields is Tipiis (teepees, tii-piis etc.) are going to be big at festivals in 2010, and we mean literally and figuratively. You couldn’t move at Glastonbury 2010 without tripping over a tipii guy rope and if you were lucky enough to be staying in one the scramble to find your pitch was easy as the tipiis lurked over the diminutive dome tents.
Should you Teepee?
Once you have got over the striking size and got inside the Skandika 300 you will be wowed by the headroom. At nearly 10ft tall with a 18ft diameter gives the teepee a large enough footprint to fit a full bench so you could use the tent as a dining room in case of bad weather.
The Skandika is only a single skin so best suited to summer but we have reports of no leaks during a summer thunderstorm. It will require at least two adults to pitch but with a capacity of twelve you’re likely to have someone to hand. The unique shape of the teepee improves air circulation reducing inside temperature, something that would’ve been extremely welcome at this years scorching Glastonbury.
Tech specs
The flysheet is PU coated 150D Polyester and the groundsheet polyethylene. The Skandika has taped seems and a 3000 mm water column. It weighs in at a lightweight 10kg.
