<h2>Wild camping in Loch Voil</h2>
<p>As the weather has been pretty good recently we decided to go wild camping. We picked the edge of <a href="http://redirectingat.com?id=879X204947&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fmaps.google.co.uk%2Fmaps%3Ff%3Dq%26amp%3Bsource%3Ds_q%26amp%3Bhl%3Den%26amp%3Bq%3DLoch%2BVoil%2C%2BStirling%2C%2BStirling%2BFK19%2B8%2C%2BUnited%2BKingdom%26amp%3Bie%3DUTF8%26amp%3Bcd%3D1%26amp%3Bgeocode%3DFQvJWwMdOHW8_w%26amp%3Bsplit%3D0%26amp%3Bsll%3D53.800651%2C-4.064941%26amp%3Bsspn%3D6.881357%2C14.941406%26amp%3Bll%3D56.346891%2C-4.42644%26amp%3Bspn%3D0.516733%2C1.047821%26amp%3Bz%3D10%26amp%3Biwloc%3DA&sref=rss" target="_blank">Loch Voil</a> just past <a href="http://redirectingat.com?id=879X204947&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fmaps.google.co.uk%2Fmaps%3Ff%3Dq%26amp%3Bsource%3Ds_q%26amp%3Bhl%3Den%26amp%3Bq%3DBalquhidder%2C%2BLochearnhead%2C%2BPerthshire%2C%2BUnited%2BKingdom%26amp%3Bsll%3D56.346891%2C-4.42644%26amp%3Bsspn%3D0.516733%2C1.047821%26amp%3Bie%3DUTF8%26amp%3Bcd%3D1%26amp%3Bgeocode%3DFTfwWwMdTkS9_w%26amp%3Bsplit%3D0%26amp%3Bz%3D16%26amp%3Biwloc%3DA&sref=rss" target="_self">Balquhidder</a> in <a href="http://redirectingat.com?id=879X204947&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fmaps.google.co.uk%2Fmaps%3Ff%3Dq%26amp%3Bsource%3Ds_q%26amp%3Bhl%3Den%26amp%3Bgeocode%3D%26amp%3Bq%3D%2BPerthshire%2C%2BUnited%2BKingdom%26amp%3Bsll%3D56.356919%2C-4.373426%26amp%3Bsspn%3D0.008072%2C0.016372%26amp%3Bie%3DUTF8%26amp%3Bz%3D9%26amp%3Biwloc%3DA&sref=rss" target="_blank">Perthshire</a>.</p>
<p>About a mile or so after <a href="http://redirectingat.com?id=879X204947&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fmaps.google.co.uk%2Fmaps%3Ff%3Dq%26amp%3Bsource%3Ds_q%26amp%3Bhl%3Den%26amp%3Bq%3DBalquhidder%2C%2BLochearnhead%2C%2BPerthshire%2C%2BUnited%2BKingdom%26amp%3Bsll%3D56.346891%2C-4.42644%26amp%3Bsspn%3D0.516733%2C1.047821%26amp%3Bie%3DUTF8%26amp%3Bcd%3D1%26amp%3Bgeocode%3DFTfwWwMdTkS9_w%26amp%3Bsplit%3D0%26amp%3Bz%3D16%26amp%3Biwloc%3DA&sref=rss" target="_self">Balquhidder</a> the road becomes single track and if you drive along for another few miles the spots for camping really start to open up.</p>
<p>We had a small group with three cars and still managed to find somewhere to park &#8211; although I wouldn&#8217;t recommend that as the larger parking areas are few and far between. The road is a little busy and considering it&#8217;s a dead-end road it&#8217;s quite suprising!</p>
<p><a href="http://www.campr.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/voil2.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-248" title="voil2" src="http://www.campr.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/voil2-225x300.jpg" alt="voil2" width="225" height="300" /></a>There are signs that a lot of campers set up there and we had to clear up rubbish before we could camp (which we then took home to bin). The police do the rounds at night with plastic rubbish bags and awareness leaflets which is kind of good to see but a shame that they have to.</p>
<p>We found a great spot right at the edge of the loch that was completely secluded and we could easily have gone swimming in if we&#8217;d remembered our cossies! It really is a fantastic place to stop for the night with the most amazing views to wake up to.</p>
<p>We&#8217;ll be back!</p>
<h2>About wild camping</h2>
<p>Remember wild camping is legal in Scotland but technically illegal in England and Wales! </p>
<p>For more information on wild camping in Scotland see the <a href="http://redirectingat.com?id=879X204947&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.outdooraccess-scotland.com%2Fdefault.asp&sref=rss" target="_blank">Scottish Outdoor Access Code</a> for a general guide check out <a href="http://redirectingat.com?id=879X204947&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.thehappycampers.co.uk%2F&sref=rss" target="_blank">The Happy Campers </a>guide to <a href="http://redirectingat.com?id=879X204947&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.thehappycampers.co.uk%2Fcampsites%2Fwildcamping%2F&sref=rss" target="_blank">wild camping</a>.</p>
<h2>Getting there</h2>
<p>We&#8217;ve plotted the approximate location on Google Maps. If you camp nearby add a tag! </p>

<p>The festival season is on it&#8217;s way so I thought I&#8217;d put together a music themed post to celebrate the launch of Campr. But ripping of the Guardian&#8217;s <a href="http://redirectingat.com?id=879X204947&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.guardian.co.uk%2Fmusic%2Fseries%2Freadersrecommend&sref=rss">Readers Recommend</a> about feature is more difficult than you&#8217;d think, trawling through iTunes hasn&#8217;t revealed much in the way of camping inspired songs, it seems tent pegs and guy ropes haven&#8217;t got too many bands *cough* rocking.</p>
<p>Spotify has revealed a few gems like <a href="http://redirectingat.com?id=879X204947&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fopen.spotify.com%2Ftrack%2F3ehd7Hhs8RGTAC8K6iehoT&sref=rss">Tents Along the Water by the Skygreen Leopards</a> so why not make it a shared experience? Take a look at the<a href="http://redirectingat.com?id=879X204947&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fopen.spotify.com%2Fuser%2Fjamesnation%2Fplaylist%2F53U4ZOpzYuUhXw9g6VfDLr&sref=rss"> Campr playlist</a> on Spotify and add your own musical gems. As soon as your start thinking about camp fires and battered acoustic guitars a whole world of (badly sung) music opens up and of course some of the best musical experiences of our lives take place in muddly fields with tents in the background.</p>
<p>If you find something really good boast about it in the comments below and we&#8217;ll send our favourite contribution a Campr Camping Accessories Pack (which you can also win by <a href="http://www.campr.co.uk/campr-needs-you">contributing to the site</a>)</p>
