Hotels and caravans seem to have a monopoly on the best sites on the internet  (some campsites websites are SO BAD it makes me cry) but there are some quality camp ‘sites’ (this could get confusing) out there that will point you to the best campsites, festivals or tents in a stylish and user friendly manner. Campsites in Britain

Campsites in Britain is a comprehensive directory for camping and caravanning sites in Britain. Their ‘Ask the Expert’ section features product reviews and a members forum. All round a great resource!

 The Happy Campers

The authors of the lovely The Happy Campers book, The Happy Campers have a stylish and useful site with recommended campsites, camping recipes and a busy forum (although seemingly locked to new members) the site is the perfect web camping destination.

The Guardian Camping

There is nothing better than relaxing on a gorgeous campsite with a fresh copy of the weekend Guardian and the camping section lives up to this promise. Regularly updated with camping articles and nicely liberal with it, the Guardian is the campers friend. (Caravanners prefer the Daily Mail)

Go Glamping

Go Glamping is part of the Holiday Pad network also responsible for the innovative Twitter powered camping offers site Holiday Crunch. A directory of the most stylish campsites on the planet, Go Glamping soothes you with it’s rich wooden background before tempting you with some of the most gorgeous campsites we’ve ever seen. It’s camping porn.

Go Outdoors

After visiting their new Bristol store the other day we are converts to the Go Outdoors religion (it has a climbing wall!). It’s a mecca to outdoors pursuits but what struck us most was how neat it was. Go go go go go…

Cool Camping

It was Cool Camping that got me back into leisure camping after several years of solely festivaling it. After portaloos, mud and dysentery the sites (and pictures) in these books are out of this world. Now covering Scotland, England, Wales, France, Europe, kids, cooking and festivals the Cool Camping series does it all.

UK Campsites

Not the prettiest site on this list but definitely one of the busiest. UK Campsite offers an exhaustive directory of campsites with over 50,000 independent site reviews and a massively popular forum.

Virtual Festivals

Alongside eFestivals, Virtual Festivals should be your first stop for festival news, reviews and chat. A recent redesign has vastly improved the site, we like!

Cath Kidston

Bring a little shabby chic to your campsite with Cath Kidston’s vintage print designs.  Cath Kidston is an icon of glamping with her vintage print tent for Millets and has gone one better with the Box Floral Teepee.

Wild Camping for motorhomes

Aimed at motorhomes but with plenty of resources for those of us who prefer to be a few feet closer to nature, Wild Camping is a fantastic forum for the more adventurous camper.
